Yesterday I met Kaitlyn & Brandon for their engagement photos at Salt Air Farm in Cutchogue. Salt Air Farm is one of my favorite locations of all time to photograph. It’s a privately owned farm, and booked by appointment only, so it made it super easy to socially distance in the current times. It also has the most romantic tree swing, flowers and fruit everywhere, and even doves, bunnies, and their resident cat. It’s such a gorgeous and peaceful place.
Luckily, it’s even beautiful in the rain! Contrary to the forecast, it ended up drizzling throughout this entire session! Kaitlyn & Brandon kept smiling and it was so great to get to know these two.
Kaitlyn & Brandon met in high school, but didn’t connect until college. After their first planned date was cancelled- Kaitlyn almost wrote him off, but Brandon persisted & so she agreed to one more date. She didn’t want to fall for him- she even showed up to their date in sweats and no makeup. They went for ice cream and sat on a bench talking for hours. Kaitlyn said it was the most amazing first date, and she fell in love that night on that park bench.
We carried around some extra clear umbrellas with us just incase it started coming down really hard! I bring a couple of these to every wedding. It brings peace of mind, and I love how the clear umbrella allows for lots of light to come through, and almost disappears into the photo ( unlike solid white, or ANY other color or design)
The swing at Salt Air Farm is a staple! Always lots of laughter.
Kaitlyn brought this custom ring dish and a ring box ( not pictured) to her engagement photo session. Props are a great way to customize and personalize your engagement photos. We rested the dish on a low hanging hydrangea bush ( Kaitlyn’s favorite flowers)
These two will be moving forward with a small ceremony this year, and have postponed their dream wedding to 2021. I can’t wait to be there for it all!
